My Role

UX/UI Designer

Problem:

Business startup does not have a website, needs to show clients what services are available.

Solution:

Mind & Body Med Spa needs a clean website with information over services that are easy to find. The logo needs to match the aesthetic of the spa's intentions which is to offer services for beauty and better health.

Research

the list of services provided is quite long, so I had to make sure to organize them properly based on if its esthetic or for medical type services. Information architecture as well as design and logo were my main focuses.

Ideate

Creating a diagram of what changes could be made for the redesign, we deduced that most of the information architecture was what needed the most improvement.

Wireframes

We all created sketches and low-fi wireframes and then came back together and compared and contrasted on certain aspects of how the information and how it was structured. We ended up mixing up aspects of my design along with Charley’s design. Using the structure that uses all the space while putting in enough information for the user to easily find and not get overwhelmed.

During sketch process, there were a total of four homepage sketches for layout. The image on the left (my design) focused on organization and call to action. Image on right (Charley's) cleaned up the original website.

Design

Prototype

The prototype includes a redesign of the homepage, and two pages focused over programs provided by the nonprofit. Designs have a set color scheme to prevent any distraction, and improved information organization. The navigation is organized neatly through card sorting, and call-to-action are shown on homepage in multiple places so user can locate easily.

Test

User Testing

The Employer and the staff all tested features on the website, finding the design much nicer and a better fit. They do like the messaging system for their clients and like the automated messaging for new patients. The only criticsm gien was how the missing FAQ page, which has been corrected.

Reflection

To sum the redesign up...

Texas THC Doctor is a fresh design compared to other Medical THC Prescription websites. The website provides better communication to the user through means of chat, and telehealth services. I wish in the future to add more features such as a blog and a more updated chat system, with SMS messaging.
